Newegg is offering $50 to $55 rebates on Kingston’s line of HyperX SSD in capacities of 120GB or 240GB. Click on Kingston HyperX SSD for a full list of available models.
After rebate, the 240GB can be as low as $364.99 and the 120GB drive as low as $174.99.
The rebate terms allow for up to two HyperX SSD products per customer. Some enthusiasts who are aiming for maximum performance are using RAID 0 on these drives to get read/write performance around 1 Gbyte/sec when the drives are installed on SATA 3 interfaces supporting 6 Gbps transfer rates.
They also work great in RAID 1 configurations that mirror your data on two drives and speed up random and sequential read operations by about a factor of two. Since reads outnumber writes around 10 to 1, this can be a big performance boost with added data safety.
Recent reviews and user experiences reported on Kingston’s HyperX SSD 120GB and 240GB drives are strongly positive. They are being regarded as among the top-performing SSD drives on the market to date with few of the firmware and instability problems often seen with many of the other highest-performance SSD drives.

The essence of these reviews is that both the 120GB and 240GB capacities are excellent performers but the 240GB model is likely to perform better under heavy multitasking.
These Newegg rebates apply to purchases from February 17 to 23, 2012.
